Kathy Parker is a writer, poet, and spoken word performer.

She writes of abuse, trauma, mental health, domestic violence, loss, grief, survival; but also recovery, healing, overcoming abuse and empowering women in the truth of their worth.

She was Keynote speaker for the 2018 Adelaide Plains Festival of Words and has been feature performer for regular spoken word events, Spoke N Slurred in Adelaide and Melbourne’s Girls on Key. She also performed in the Paroxysm Press Showcase Series as part of the 2019 Adelaide Fringe. In 2020 Kathy has been feature performer at The Good Word in Port Adelaide, and was also the winner of the Spoken Word SA Summer Slam Final, as well as winning the Ruckus Brisbane May Slam, Enough Said May Slam, and placing second in Bankstown Poetry April Slam.

To date, her poetry has been published in The Blue Nib, Anti-Heroin Chic, Animal Heart Press and Black Bough Poetry
